a.k.a. The Groove Syndicate

Beth's first band was in a Greensboro, NC band with The Ladies Auxiliary.  They competed in the Piedmont Blues Challenge and took third place.  After leaving Greensboro, she played in Blues After Dark (Cincinnati, OH) and ran the Northern Kentucky blues jam at Lucille's (Latonia, KY).  She has been with the Groove Syndicate since 1995; has toured England twice, played in Italy, Switzerland, and Canada; along with many, many Blues Fests, including The Chicago Blues Fest.

Perhaps the coolest Groove Syndicate back story ever!?  Chris first auditioned for the band back in 1996 as a trombone player.  Now 20 years later Chris is a singer / guitar player / songwriter. In fact, Chris penned "ROCK N ROLL ALL OVER YOU" on our latest release - Friends and Family.  He brings that great element of soul with his voice (The Golden Throat) to the band, and top notch rhythm guitar playing. He is from Franklin, KY., and formerly played with Southern Express,  The Soul Kickers and Low Water Ford (out of college) where he began his guitar playing and singing career.  Chris is instrumental in our sound.

From Long Island, NY . . .Big Bones began his tenure with the band back in 1997 - 2001.  He played on SOMEWHERE SOMEHOW, toured England and played a ton clubs and festivals with The Groove Syndicate. He was also a member of the award winning Groove Syndicate lineup (Kentuckiana Blues Society 1997) .  He also previously played with Southern Express (Franklin, KY).  Joe brings a soulful, melodic, expressive sound to the band.

Mark brings 35 of years playing blues and jazz/fusion bass in Chicago and Louisville area blues bars, music festivals,  honky-tonks,  and anywhere else blues can be found. He has also played with various local and regional acts; Foree Wells, Richard "Kush" Griffith, Smoketown Red, Dennis Ervin, Sam "Shake" Anderson, The Blues Syndicate, Rogue Gallery, and others.

Hailing from Nashville, TN., Jon (Reese) is one of the original (Kentucky - Groove Syndicate) members (1996-2001). He was an integral part in our development  sound, and instrumental on the very first CD; ANGEL CHILD. Also, he had a guest appearance on SOMEWHERE SOMEHOW (1999).  Jon has played with numerous top regional acts; Funk Dat, the very successful band Signal, and he had a 9 month stint with national act James Peterson (deceased).  He also fronted his own band JP & The Activators.  Jon brings an arsenal of skills to the band.

Originally from Chicago, IL., where he began his career in smoked filled rooms and clubs as an under aged organ phenom!  Mark brings excellent piano skills along with a smokin' organ style all to his own!  He has played with Great Big Noise (Independent / ASCAP) and Perfect Red (MRG Records / BMI). And many local and regional acts.
